Despite the rain, an enthusiastic group arrived on March 31st for a combined New England Region/Lower Hudson Valley Region event at Automotive Restorations in Stratford, Conn.

Employing over 40 skilled craftsmen, Automotive Restorations has been in business since 1978, and it has been a loyal supporter of CLC, offering particular expertise in Cadillac restorations. In addition to restoration, repair, and maintenance services for a wide range of collector vehicles, Automotive Restorations offers comprehensive support services to enable their customers’ interests in shows, rallies, and vintage racing events.

The event was hosted by CEO Kent Bain who led the group on an extremely informative facility tour that included the vintage race shop as well as the panel, paint, and trim shops.

One tour highlight was a demonstration of panel fabrication utilizing an English Wheel by fabricator Steve Hall, who actually created a hood scoop from aluminum sheet metal during the demonstration.

Automotive Restorations is one of the largest and most comprehensive restoration facilities in the country, with many ongoing projects from driver to Pebble Beach quality, all in an extremely well-organized, meticulously clean environment. CP
