What is not so well-known is that Savannah is the birth place of Grand Prix racing in the United States, hosting the American Grand Prize race first in 1908. HSR events represent fast-paced, wheel-to-wheel racing. To keep competition close, cars are classed according to age and engine size. HSR features several separate groups and will feature the SCCA Formula Lites and F4 Series as well as the Classic RS Cup and Global GT Series. The weekend of racing includes sprint and endurance races.

Three days of racing, June 20-22, including Thursday Test Day, will again be co-sanctioned by VRG and VSCCA, joined this year by the Northeast Division of HRG. This event continues the tradition of celebrating Thompson's history on the 1.7 mile road course, one of the oldest closed circuit road courses in the United States.
This will be the 37th consecutive year that SVRA visits historic Mid-Ohio for the Grand Prix weekend. Friday is an open test day with the optional Driver Orientation/Track Orientation Program (TOP/DOP). In addition to the SVRA sprint races, there will be two Hawk Performance Endurance Series events, and a Mazda Miata Heritage Cup race on the weekend schedule.
The New England Auto Museum will bring a Father’s Day Car Show to the grounds of the historic Lockwood-Mathews Mansion in Norwalk, CT. The event will be held from 10AM-3PM and will offer hundreds of unique cars to view.
