The BMW e90/92 M3 was, to many critics, the best car in the world. For the money, nothing else offered the same explosive power, surgically precise handling, practical usability, and exceptional good looks that BMW had managed to deliver. Perhaps the draw of the e90/92 chassis was that the fourth generation M3 managed to take all that was loved about its predecessors and improve upon it. Gone was the e46’s 3.2 I6, and in its place was the new 4.0l S65 that made 80 more horsepower than the S54 it was replacing and delivered an impressive 295 lb/ft of torque. The result was immense acceleration (0-60 in 4.6 seconds) in a track-ready vehicle that you could, without issue, drive to work every day. But BMW knew that, for the e90/92’s perceived perfection, there was still room for improvement. Like the e46 M3, BMW offered an additional Competition Package for their hardcore clients. This $2,500 option was dedicated to making the brand new M3 a menace on track, dialing in suspension and handling to handle every corner unlike any BMW had before. They even advertised this Competition Package equipped M3 as “the best-handling production M car ever built.” That may seem like a bold statement, but BMW wasn’t bluffing. The Comp Pack M3 sits 10mm lower than its standard counterpart, with completely revised DSC and EDC systems. The damper rates were fine tuned specifically for track use and larger 19-inch CSL style wheel provided additional width for gripping the road. The result was an instant success and, combined with their brand-new M-DCT transmission, was capable of outrunning anything it may happen to share the track with.

This 2011 BMW M3 Competition Package Coupe is a truly remarkable example. Finished in the stunning Melbournrot Metallic over black leather, this three-owner car has traveled only 45,000 miles from new. The car shows few signs of age, with both the body and interior in exceptional shape. Beyond its striking looks, this car performs as it would have the day it left the factory. The DCT transmission shifts smoothly in automatic mode, and is lightning fast and impossibly responsive when shifting manually. The engine has been well maintained and roars to life with a little input from your right foot, instantly showcasing what made this the best car on earth. No expense was spared when ordering this vehicle, as it has nearly every option available from the factory, including the individual audio system, navigation, satellite radio, adaptive bi-xenon headlights, sunroof, and the lighting fast M-DCT transmission. This M3 is being offered with a clean title, clean Carfax, and recent service.
